The act of solving problems (in a person's worldview, in a society's Culture, in a person's life) and changing course accordingly.

Progress is synonymous with error correction. Every solved problem is a corrected error. Error correction operates through Conjecture and Criticism — guessing solutions and eliminating the ones that fail.
